Research Summary

Dr. Huang’s research focuses on Cariology, Molecular Microbiolgy, Microbiome and anticaries dental materials. Her current research is supported by NIDCR K08 award, and has two directions: 

  • Novel anti-caries catalysts metal titanites to modulate the virulence of cariogenic biofilms.
  • The mechanisms and prevention of caries in populations with hyposalivation. The populations including: Head and Neck Cancer patients after radiotherapy, cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, and patients with Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS)
