Biography

My principal focus is to provide quality dental care to patients and ensure a positive patient experience. I highly value ongoing learning and have dedicated my career to acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to become an expert clinician.

I received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from College of Charleston, SC, and a Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) from the University of Kentucky. I completed a dual-General Practice Residency (GPR) program at the University of Kentucky and Lexington VA Medical Center, where I became certified in moderate IV sedation and received further training in implant placement and restoration, fixed/removable prosthodontics, endodontics, and various other areas of general dentistry.

During my residency, I gained extensive experience treating medically compromised patients, including those undergoing radiation/chemotherapy, those requiring hospital dental clearance, and patients residing in the VA’s Community Living Center. This facility cares for 80-100 patients with acute and chronic medical needs, including hospice, respite, acute rehabilitative care, and long-term care.

Before joining The Ohio State University (OSU), I practiced dentistry in Lexington, Kentucky, and volunteered at Mission Lexington, a free dental clinic serving under-served patients. At OSU, I initially served as the Assistant Group Leader in the pre-doctoral clinic.

I became part of The Ohio State University GPR program in the spring of 2020 as an attending dentist. My role within GPR included dental education and clinical instruction to GPR residents. In 2021, my division reallocated me to further cover GPR sessions in preparation for Dr. Hall’s retirement. In January 2023, I was appointed as an associate program director in the OSU GPR program.

In addition to providing education and clinical guidance to residents, I have had the opportunity to deliver dental care to numerous patients referred from Wexner Medical Center for dental clearance or pain management.

I am a member of the American Dental Education Association and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
